Learning and Development Manager Role

We are currently recruiting for a full time, Learning & Development Manager in our London, or New York office. Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the L&D Manager is responsible for developing learning programs for the organisation’s employees. This position assesses company-wide developmental needs to drive learning initiatives, identifies, and arranges suitable development solutions for staff across functions. This position actively searches, designs, and implements effective methods to support people and enhance performance.

Core Accountabilities

  • Implement global learning strategy and programs across the company taking into consideration location and needs of offices
  • Lead a mix of learning and development programs such as employee induction, assessment academy
  • Partner with teams across the company to develop and roll out new content specific to the function/responsibility and skills training
  • Partner with the Leadership Lab and the regions to roll-out new consultant learning and development programs across the company and turning all learning into an ongoing program of work
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of development and onboarding programs using data and KPIs to revise or recommend changes in instruction or delivery methods
  • Deploy different kinds of learning methods such as coaching٫ job-shadowing٫ e-learning, etc.
  • Conduct needs analysis of learning and development plans and identify opportunities for process improvements supported by comprehensive and achievable plans for implementation
  • Redefine new hire orientation and onboarding programs to ensure all staff have a positive experience
  • Collaborate with other members of the HR team to improve talent programs; including but not limited to, the employee experience, key talent management practices, career succession, performance management, etc.
  • Employ tracking mechanisms to ensure timely learning and compliance with programs; generate reports on program participation
  • Integrate learning and development into all phases of the employee experience, help staff make the most of learning opportunities
  • Oversee learning management system, optimize, and manage platform with a focus on improving self-led development and timely completion of programs
  • Deploy standard project management processes including documentation of best practices


  • A deep interest in developing people and organisations; an ability to influence people at all levels of the business
  • Strong organisational/project management skills
  • Must be a self-starter and forward thinker
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, relational, and ambiguous environment
  • Ability to lead and manage multiple ongoing projects simultaneously and adaptable to
    frequently changing priorities.
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Global mindset and experience, able to apply global standards with local implementation.


  • Degree in Business (Organisational Development, Management, Human Resources, Leadership) or equivalent levels of skill and knowledge
  • Proven experience as an L&D Manager or similar responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles
  • Current knowledge of effective learning and development methods including familiarity with e-learning platforms and practices
  • Skills in designing and delivering development programs and learning modules
  • Experience in project management and budgeting
  • Proficient in Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills; sharp business acumen
  • Advanced capability in technical platforms leveraged by YSC, including Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and proficiency with a data analytics
