Global Markets Human Resources Manager Role

Reporting the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Global Markets (GM) Human Resources Manager oversees all aspects of the HR function for YSC’s Global Markets business which includes offices in Australia, South Africa, Singapore, Mexico, India, New Zealand, Spain, and China.

This role will serve as the HR Manager for the Managing Director (MD) for Global Markets and provide a blend of creating, implementing, and managing HR processes that are fit for purpose and globally aligned, support for internal learning and l development, employee lifecycle support, and special projects. The incumbent will serve as a member of the global human resources team, coordinating with HR, operations, and finance colleagues across YSC.

Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with some flexibility needed based on business demands. Will need to attend some off hour meetings.

Part time/other flexible ways of working will be considered.

General Responsibilities

  • Execute all operational tasks related to the employee lifecycle (recruitment, onboarding, development, retention, offboarding) for YSC’s global markets business.
  • Maintain employee data and files personnel file maintenance, processing employment changes and updates, pay adjustments and file auditing.
  • Manage related calendars for all global market offices, i.e., employee holiday calendar.
  • Administer benefits including answering questions, open enrollment yearly renewal, etc.
  • Implement and support culture initiatives; ensure staff wellbeing.
  • Document and report on talent management trends.
  • Manage ad hoc requests as well as track and report on key HR metrics such as headcount, turnover, remuneration data.

Policies and Procedures

  • Keep YSC employment policies and handbook updated in line with changes in legislation, internal or global policies and practices.
  • Ensure specific policies are appropriately implemented such as parental leave, disciplinary & grievance, absence, holiday etc.
  • Counsel staff and leadership on disciplinary, employee concerns and overall policy implementation.
  • Manage the administration of the policies, procedures, and programs of the organisation.
  • Maintain compliance with country specific employment laws and regulations.


  • Assist on all Global Market recruitment activity and pipeline. Provide support for all recruitment efforts, including (but not limited to) creation of job descriptions, advertising, conducting initial interviews, composition of offer letters, management of relationships with recruiters, maintenance of the recruitment inbox, etc.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding activities including proper team notifications, system entry and files.

Performance Management

  • Manage the annual performance cycle (clarifying process, documentation, data gathering, communication and briefings, coordinating performance calibrations etc.).
  • Work closely with Global Markets MD and Head of Finance on annual reward cycle.
  • Support managers with all other elements of performance management – Performance improvement plans, probationary periods, etc.
  • Oversee the underperformance management process; engage local experts at needed.

Induction, Learning & Development

  • Work closely with the Learning & Development (L&D) Manager to learning and development activities.
  • Monitor learning and development engagement and generate reports for leadership on participation and other metrics.
  • Identify and assign mentors and L&D champions to new joiners to ensure capability building support and rapid upskill on YSC approach to consulting.

Key Skills and Experience Required

  • Degree in Business (Organisational Development, Management, Human Resources, Leadership) or equivalent levels of skill and knowledge.
  • A minimum of five years’ proven experience in Global HR Management/Asia Region or similar responsibilities; awareness of International HR practices and guidelines.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles, effective learning and development methods including familiarity with e-learning platforms and practices.
  • Must be a self-starter and forward thinker; comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, relational, and ambiguous environment.
  • Experience in project management and budgeting; able to lead and manage multiple ongoing projects simultaneously and adaptable to frequently changing priorities.
  • Proficient in Human Resources Information Systems.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills; sharp business acumen.
  • Advanced capability in technical platforms leveraged by YSC, including Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and proficiency with a data analytics.
