EME Business Development Operations Manager

About the role

This role is responsible for supporting Business Development in EME as we pursue our ambition of growing the business (revenue and profit) through C-Suite level leadership strategy advisory services. The role enables that by raising the bar on the quality, consistency and impact of the business development work we do with our clients. The role covers business development with both new prospects and existing clients, with more of a weighting towards internal enablement over external client engagement. A key part of the role is providing support, consistent process, clarity, and ongoing learning around how we do C-Suite level business development so that we drive consistency and continual improvement. This role will work closely with the Global Commercial team to ensure that EME are up to date on the latest thinking and materials, and so that learnings are shared in both directions.

Core Accountabilities

Externally

  • In line with the global commercial strategy, partnering with regional stakeholders to research organizations and industries, providing commercial insights, and writing customized regional proposals for C-Suite level decision makers.
  • Working with EME Directors to qualify incoming leads and recommend next steps based on defined business development criteria.
  • Aligning messaging in client-facing proposals with that of our global strategy to ensure consistency. Leading the operational requirements of cross-team business development efforts and initiatives to elevate our client relationships and market impact.
  • Supporting proactive business development around new client opportunities through (for example) structured proactive outreach and supporting client events.
  • Ensuring and tracking the effective roll out of commercial business development initiatives in EME.

 

Internally

  • Supporting the consulting teams around farming existing client networks e.g., providing initial structure for proposals, sharing examples of best practice proposals, inputting new IP from the Leadership Lab.
  • Partnering with the EME Directors and finance to assist with pricing, proposed approach, and allocation of work in development of regional proposals.
  • Managing lead follow up as appropriate to accelerate progress through the business development
    pipeline.
  • Ensuring smooth connections to other parts of the YSC business development and commercial system including to global business development activities and initiatives. (e.g., working with other regional business development managers to ensure consistency).
  • Collaborating with global colleagues to identify new commercial opportunities for the region, leveraging insights and relationships to  grow accounts globally.
  • Tracking and measuring impact in rolling out regional business development initiatives and working with regional and global stakeholders to identify opportunities for further improvement.

  • Must be eligible to work in the UK and available to commute to work in the London office (flexible work from home arrangements to be approved).

Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience.
  • Track record of providing exceptional service (internal and external stakeholders).
  • Experience of working with senior stakeholders confidently.
  • Client-facing experience gained in a B2B operation with demanding clients.
  • Experience of editing and shaping great, impactful written material.
  • Experience of implementing changes to process and behaviour.
  • Undergraduate degree in applicable field of study (desirable but not essential).
