Zaina is a Leadership Consultant, Executive Coach and Facilitator, bringing her background as a Harvard trained psychiatrist, psychotherapist and educationalist to her work with clients at YSC. She has been recognized for her work as an educator and her expertise in individual coaching and group facilitation having published articles on the use of psychological techniques in learning facilitation and the role of unconscious bias in decision-making. Zaina has over 15 years’ experience in leadership development and as a consultant internationally, having worked closely with the senior leadership teams of organisations in the US, UK, Middle East and Africa, Asia, and Eastern Europe. She has developed and delivered leadership skills, learning modules and team development interventions to a wide range of audiences in both public and private sectors. Other examples of work include reviewing and setting the top team agenda alongside organisational culture initiatives that support the success of strategic priorities and driving the development of solutions that ensured transformational & sustainable change. 

Zaina’s professional focus includes leadership development, executive coaching, group facilitation and top team development, conflict negotiation and curriculum design. In addition, she is a subject matter expert in resilience, positive psychology, neuroleadership and health and wellbeing. She has a keen interest in purpose led leadership and diversity and inclusion.

Zaina’s style is energetic, infused with humor and safe challenging. She integrates her psychological and business backgrounds to help clients develop self-awareness and deep insights about themselves and their leadership. She helps clients connect with their individual purpose and motivations to unlock their fullest potential. She is passionate about supporting others to thrive and fully leverage their strengths to make positive impacts that make a real difference.

Zaina completed an Executive MBA at Imperial College Business School, with a focus on Organizational Behaviour, Strategy, and Sustainability. She is a double American Board-Certified Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist. She trained and worked as a lecturer at Harvard University, where she first began her work in leadership development. She also holds a Masters in Public Health from Harvard University, concentrating in International Health and a Bachelors of Science from Tufts University in Chemistry and Community Health. She is also trained in various psychometrics including Swift, PSSI, Firo-B and Hogan.

Zaina is originally from the US but considers herself a global citizen and a third culture kid. Outside of work, she loves reading to escape to fantastical worlds, dance (especially with shiny costumes), rebounding and pilates, and getting really competitive in trivia quizzes.
