Steve Stewart

Steve is a Director in YSC’s UK & Europe business. He brings over two decades of experience working across the private and public sector. His initial career foundation as a Clinical Psychologist provided him with tools and training to ‘go deeper’ in his understanding of individuals, teams and systems. He first joined YSC in 2013, developing a strong track record partnering with clients to assess and develop their CEO and senior leadership populations. He worked closely with a number of large multinational clients across multiple sectors including financial services, retail, energy, pharmaceuticals and media. Following his passion for cross-cultural working, he completed a two-year stint as Head of YSC Singapore in which he led YSC’s Singapore business in providing leadership advisory services to a range of global and local organisations. Having lived for a period of time in Ontario, Canada, he returned to the UK and re-joined YSC in 2023.

Steve has a passion for both assessment and coaching and in supporting leaders be the best version of themselves. This extends to an interest in culture change and in developing inclusive, high performing organizational cultures. He also has a keen interest in Sustainability Leadership and supporting businesses reach their net zero ambitions.

Steve’s consulting approach comes from one of genuine curiosity and a desire to understand people’s cultural, organizational and personal contexts. His style is warm and collaborative, yet challenging and incisive. He emphasises the importance of building strong relationships through which to create meaningful change.

He holds a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from Newcastle University and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Plymouth University. He trained as an Executive Coach with the Academy of Executive Coaching (AoEC). He has completed additional training in a range of Psychometric tools to inform his consulting work. He has also completed professional certifications in working with clients in outdoor settings in nature.

Outside of work, he is the dad of two very energetic young boys. In his spare time he enjoys running, hiking and canoeing, and generally enjoying/braving the unpredictable UK weather.
