Shay brings almost 15 years experience in leadership and organizational consulting, including experience in leadership development, psychological assessment, talent and culture change, CEO succession, and innovation and product development. He joined YSC in 2017. His consulting work extends to a broad range of industries and sectors, including retail and FMCG, mining, professional and financial services, energy, property and construction, and private equity. This includes working with both local and multinational organizations. Shay works with senior executives and executive teams to translate insight into meaningful solutions that drive relevant and sustainable change. He is a member of YSC’s ANZ team as a Senior Consultant, based in Sydney. In a previous life, Shay brought deep expertise in psychometrics and measurement, where he was responsible for leading the development of new, innovative psychological tools with a focus on leadership, culture, and engagement.
In addition to his consulting work with clients, he also has accountability for the leadership insights practice for a portfolio of clients in Global Markets, where he leverages his research and analytical capabilities to identify enablers of team and organizational success, blockers of performance, and uncover new insights to support clients focus and enhance their leadership strategies.
Shay combines deep psychological insight with a contextual lens to ensure his solutions are fit for purpose. As an assessor, he provides a rich developmental experience achieved through creating an environment of trust, candor, empathy, and provocation. He is passionate about rigor in his solutions, where he is keen to measure the impact of YSC’s work and to use analytics to enhance our approach over time. Energized by anything new, he particularly enjoys working with leaders in the digital and data space who are at the forefront of innovation.
Shay holds a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from the University of Sydney, a Postgraduate Diploma in Organizational Behavior from Macquarie University, and is currently completing his Master of Organizational Psychology from Macquarie University. He is also a certified Scrum Product Owner through the Scrum Alliance.
Outside of work, he enjoys travel, going to the gym, or catching up with friends to watch football or cricket at the pub. Otherwise you will find him nerding out to the latest SciFi /Fantasy release.
