
Joanna Heckel
Director
Joanna brings over 12 years of experience in talent strategy consulting. She joined YSC in 2016 and is currently a Director in our Europe and Middle East business. Joanna has worked with clients across geographies on projects relating to organization design, success profiling, individual assessment and development across. She is passionate about helping leaders deepen their self-awareness, in particular working with them to determine what motivates them and enabling them to bring their best to both their work and personal lives. She is also interested in the way teams interact and work together, particularly from a diversity and inclusion perspective, and has delivered workshops with senior leaders to help them maximize their individual and collective effectiveness.
Prior to working at YSC, Joanna worked as a Talent Strategy Consultant at a global HR Consulting Firm, working with senior business and HR leaders to help them develop and implement appropriate talent management, assessment and development approaches. She has worked across all industry sectors and on a global scale, specializing in FMCG, energy, financial services and retail.
As a coach, Joanna uses resilience as a route to help people approach life with greater positivity and empowerment, helping coachees make connections that they have not thought about before. She provides a balance between positivity and pragmatism and encourages self-compassion.
Joanna has a BSc in Psychology from The University of Durham and a MSc in HR Management. She also has a Practitioner Diploma in Executive Coaching (AoEC) and is a Chartered member of the CIPD and an Associate Certified Coach (ICF). She is also a member of the Division of Occupation Psychology and BPS (British Psychological Society).
Outside of work, Joanna loves being outdoors and exploring new places. Sh is currently trying to improve her cooking and dancing skills, although not at the same time. Overcoming a major health scare has strengthened her focus on the importance of positivity, perspective and self-compassion in both her personal and work life.
