David Bowman

David is a Registered Psychologist and Leadership Consultant with 15+ years’ experience across business and academic environments. He joined YSC in 2015 and leads the business in Australia & New Zealand. He partners with senior leaders in leading global clients across a range of industries including Retail, Financial Services, Mining & Energy, Property & Development, Private Equity, and Transport & Logistics.

His consulting experience spans leadership assessment & development, CEO succession & Board advisory, executive coaching, team effectiveness and organization diagnostics. He is passionate about delivering innovative, client-focused solutions underpinned by best practice in business psychology.

Prior to joining YSC, David spent 4+ years as a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Australian School of Business at the University of New South Wales, working with high potential leaders on an accelerated development program. He then spent 5+ years with Chandler Macleod, including a role as GM Consulting NSW responsible for strategy execution, financial management, business development, and people leadership in a diverse consulting practice.

David has a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours I) from the University of Sydney, a Masters in Organizational Psychology from Macquarie University, and a Ph.D in Psychology from the University of Sydney. He is also an IECL Certified Coach.

His coachees tell him that he combines psychological insight with a pragmatic appreciation of business challenges and system dynamics. He balances challenge and support to help leaders enhance their impact, improve performance, and grow professionally.

He lives in Sydney’s Inner West with his wife, son and twin daughters. In his downtime he enjoys playing guitar, an occasional round of golf, and walking his characterful Staffordshire bull terrier.
